This program watches several components of Internet Explorer to make sure no one hijacks your browser or tries to slip spyware into it. If an invader does attempt to change your IE's home page, default Page, or Search Page, SpywareGuard will let you know. The program also keeps a database of known values common to spyware programs; when possible, it gives details and specialized instructions for shaking loose the leeches.

An anti-virus program scans files before you open them and prevents execution if a virus is detected - SpywareGuard does the same thing, but for spyware!
